Last Friday on 9/16/2022, alongside some of our team members, approximately 25 volunteers from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) came and gleaned a whopping 310 lbs. of sweet potato greens! We were very excited to have Stacy Dean (FNS Deputy Under Secretary), Cindy Long (FNS Administrator), and Dr. Tameka Owens (FNS Assistant Administrator) join us on the farm as well.

A majority of the sweet potato greens was distributed to The Rainbow Community Development Center in Silver Spring, MD through Manna Food Center’s Community Food Rescue, and a portion went to So What Else, Inc. as well! THANK YOU to everyone for their hard work and efforts!!
