It’s #MeetTheFarmerMonday – Meet Sam! Sam was hired as a Grower in 2007. Since then, Sam has taken on tremendous leadership, helping new staff learn the farm and assumed additional responsibilities to keep things running. Sam has good knowledge of farm practices and the hows and whys of what we do, for example, irrigation, cover cropping, and beneficial insects and plants. In 2018, Sam agreed to work longer hours and be our wash station guru, independently restoring the wash station to pristine cleanliness each afternoon; and last year, Sam was a part of a team who presented about our farming methods at the 7th Farm-Based Education Network Conference.
