#GivingTuesdayNow – Supporting Our Essential Work

May 05th, 2020

What does it mean to be an essential business?
As a farm, we are an essential business providing food for our community. We are taking every step possible to keep our community safe and well-fed. Things have looked a little different at the farm. We’re working at least 6 feet away from each other, doing all prep and processing outside, wearing masks, and limiting our crew – but we are still growing!

Adapting…
Our staff, Growers, and volunteers are keeping up with day-to-day tasks by working on things they may not normally do. Here, Darlene, our Education and CSA Program Coordinator, is taking her turn mowing. To ensure continuity while also keeping everyone safe, we have been paying our Growers according to their original schedules.

Growing…
Spring has continued on the farm, and our fields are coming to life with new growth as we prepare for our season. We have decided to increase our commitment to providing vegetables to low-income community members by increasing our goal of distribution.

We now plan to deliver 50% of our vegetables to low-income households.

Giving…
We feel fortunate and privileged to be providing this essential service to our community and ask you to join us in providing vegetables to low-income community members by donating today.

Your donation will help us reallocate our vegetable yield from lost sales to our Farm to Food Bank and Farm to Group Home Programs.
