Time to get to know our fantastic 2018 crew!

Ashley Jordan, Crew Leader

Hi, My name is Ashley! I am a recent graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I studied Biology, and focused my classes on ecology and the environment. I am very passionate about respecting the environment and respecting each other; this is what drew me to be a part of the Red Wiggler community last year. My plan is to start my own sustainable farm in the future, so I am working on farms to learn as much as I can. In my free time, I love to go hiking, play guitar, and read. I am very blessed to be here! I hope to meet many of you who are involved in this great community and I am glad to be back at Red Wiggler for a second season!

Max Kildon, Intern

Hi! My name is Max! I am an undergraduate at the University of Vermont studying business with a minor in food systems.  What drew me to Red Wiggler was an interest in nonprofit business and food production. Red Wiggler provides a unique opportunity to explore organic food systems, a diversified agricultural model, and build managerial skills.  My other interests include cooking for family and friends, but even more so I enjoy eating with family and friends. As a former music major, I still play the drums in my free time. I hope to one day run my own business where I can pursue my passion for good food, and hopefully hone the skills I pick up from interning with Red Wiggler.

Julia Cardwell, Intern

That’s right, I’m back and better than ever. This is Julia Cardwell, Intern 2.0 Edition. It’s great to return to Red Wiggler for my second season as an intern, and I’m ready to enjoy another fun-filled, fantastic, farming frenzy this summer. I just finished my junior year at Davidson College where I’m an Environmental Studies major, volunteer coordinator for the Davidson College Farm, president of my Eating House (Davidson’s version of a sorority), and Ultimate Frisbee enthusiast. I’m so excited to be back on the farm this summer to reconnect with farm friends, learn new skills, and distract myself from many impending major life decisions as I prepare to enter my senior year of college.
