Stream Health in RW’s Wetlands

June 05th, 2013

Montgomery College’s Environmental Biology class came out this spring to test the quality and health of the stream that runs in the wetlands surrounding Red Wiggler. We are happy to report that based on the variety and number of different invertebrates found in the stream, the class found that the stream is in good health!

Red Wiggler is committed to Environmental Stewardship for many reasons and the health of the wetlands that surrounds the farm is high on the list. By being mindful and deliberate about crop rotation, cover crop, use of pesticides and attention to erosion, we are ensuring the health of the wetlands and the streams.
