School & Community Groups

Thanks for your interest in bringing a group of students or community members to Red Wiggler. Many hands make light work, and we are always delighted to host groups of volunteers!

To inquire about a visit, please fill out the RWCF Group Visit Interest Form. We will follow up with you to confirm details.

Once confirmed, program fees can be paid here, and prepare for your visit by clicking here!

Service Visit, 2-5 hours    Suggested program fee: $50 for 9/10am-12pm. A brief introduction to the farm. 2+ hours of service in our fields or greenhouse. Activities including harvesting, planting, weeding, general field maintenance. Appropriate for ages 12+, max group size is 12 participants (not including chaperones).

*As a non-profit, the suggested program fee is an important part of how we cover administrative and staffing needs for your visit. However, no group will be turned away due to lack of funds. Those who pay the full suggested fee or more help to subsidize those groups that are unable to pay the entire amount. Fees can be paid via cash or check the day of or on our website. For the service learning and service visits, volunteers assist in all aspects of our 7-acre organic vegetable farm. Working alongside our growers (adult employees with developmental disabilities), volunteers will weed, plant and harvest our vegetables and participate in other field maintenance activities.

We generally take volunteer groups Tuesday mornings through Friday mornings between 9 and 12 and on occasional afternoons. Groups are encouraged to join us outside for lunch before or after their volunteering session!
