Farm to Fork Dinner- Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at the dinner – what time will it begin and how long will it last into the night?

The evening begins with socializing and drinks at 6:00 pm. Optional farm tours are also offered before dinner. When the dinner bell sounds, guests will take their seats at the table. The meal will take about two and half hours or so. During the meal, the local producers who provided ingredients for the menu talk a bit about their respective farms and diners are encouraged to ask questions.

What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything?

Dinner is literally in the field. Therefore, the terrain will be uneven and possibly muddy, so please wear practical shoes. Dress is typically upscale casual, but most importantly we urge you to dress comfortably. Dinners will be held rain or shine; please come prepared to enjoy the evening, whatever the weather.

What if it rains?

If Mother Nature rains on our dinner, we will set up in the Big Red Barn.

What’s for dinner?

All of the food for the dinner is sourced from Red Wiggler Community Farm and our local farmer/produce friends. Our menu is guided by our fields and by the creative musings of our chef. In the interest of representing our local food economy, our contributing farmers will bring meats and cheeses to the table. If you have questions about the menu in light of allergies or food preferences, please contact us ahead of the event. Whatever the fields bring us in late June, we can assure you that you will have an incredible dining experience with the most local, fresh and flavorful foods available!

Who is the chef?

Chef Tom O’Gara works on the Culinary team for the Americas region of Marriott International. Tom helps to provide training, support and resources to several of Marriott full service hotel brands. A neighbor and friend of Red Wiggler, Tom shares our passion for creating with fresh local ingredients.

How many people attend each dinner?

We have enough seats for 40 people.

Can I specify the people I want to sit next to?

The seating is at one long table, so you can sit next to your friends and sit across from someone you will be meeting for the first time, including the farmers who have contributed to the meal.

What is the price for the dinners and what is included in that price?

The price of the dinner is $200 per person and is all-inclusive. Proceeds from your ticket purchase support Red Wiggler Community Farm’s programming and help us to create fertile ground to nourish a healthy and inclusive community.

How do I RSVP? How do I pay?

Click the Register Now link on the invitation page and fill out the registration form. Payment options are available online, and you will receive an email confirming your ticket purchase once the transaction is complete.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?

It is our intention to deliver to you an event for which the fair market value of the ticket matches your experience. The ticket price, therefore, is not tax deductible.

Can you accommodate children at the events?

Due to the length of the dinner, we do not consider this a suitable event for young children. Please visit our events page for other great opportunities to bring the family to the farm.
