Before working for the Council, she was a consultant involved with the financing of alternative energy projects. Marlene first learned of Red Wiggler on a Leadership Montgomery bus tour and began volunteering for the farm. She joined the Board in 2002 and became President of the Board in 2005. Marlene loves the multi-faceted mission of the farm and the sense of community it creates. She believes that there are few organizations that serve such a broad spectrum of causes and individuals and few that so enchant anyone who spends time there. In addition to Red Wiggler, Marlene is a volunteer for Reading is Terrific. She has three adult daughters and spends her free time traveling (mostly to her children) and enjoying outdoors sports with her husband.
