NOTES FROM THE FARM

There’s a cool tinge in the air, the days are getting shorter, and I’m simultaneously mourning the end of summer and welcoming the beginning of fall! I feel the same about the weather as a I do about the veggies–I am sad to see my summer favorites fade, but am already looking forward to my fall standouts. I’ll shed a tear for the end of summer cukes and tomatoes, but will find comfort in the coming sweet potatoes and winter squash!

There are lots of your favorite summer veggies in the share this week. And we should have extras of everything for purchase, if you just can’t choose and want them all! PLUS, cherry tomatoes will be pickable as a PYO item, so make time to walk up the hill to load up (need a ride up the hill? Just ask Rachel or Megan!).

If this is the last time we’ll see you this season, don’t forget to say goodbye before you leave the farm. We will miss all of our summer folks! Please also return your compost bin and any books you borrowed from the library.

If you’re continuing into the Fall Session, your first pick-up will be on Wednesday, September 16th or Saturday, September 19th. There is no CSA during the first two weeks of September. Fall CSA runs for 9 consecutive weeks. Mark your calendars and set your alarms!
