Environment of Inclusivity and Respect
While visiting or volunteering at Red Wiggler, you’ll interact with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s important to treat all people with dignity, respect, and understanding. This means speaking to everyone at an age-appropriate level, recognizing their presence, and including them whenever you are with them.
If you’re coming to help us on the farm, it’s important to remember that our growers (our employees with disabilities) are paid farmers. Some have worked at Red Wiggler for many years and all our growers know their jobs better than those coming to visit or help on the farm. Please arrive with the mindset that you are here to assist our work and learn from everyone.
