Becca Roe – Program Manager
As manager of the volunteer and service learning programs at Red Wiggler, Becca gets to dream up and implement ways to help Red Wiggler continue to be a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive place for our broader community. In addition, Becca supports the Grower program by maintaining scheduling and communications, and helping track Growers' skills and growth on the farm. Becca is motivated to create and maintain a safe, educational, and transformational experience for everyone who comes to the farm, and loves to share in the weird wonders of the natural world and the magic of growing food for friends and community.
Becca graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Geography, and spent time after college as a volunteer, apprentice, and employee at farms in Maine, Maryland, Nepal, and Spain. In 2016, Becca reconnected to her hometown of DC through service with FoodCorps AmeriCorps at DC Bilingual Public Charter School, and later on as a community nutrition educator with the Food Access and Education team at DC Central Kitchen.
Off the farm, Becca enjoys hanging out with pals around DC, looking at bugs and birds in Rock Creek Park, learning and practicing new languages, and dreaming up new ways to use RW veggies!
