A Beautiful Day on the Farm
What a weekend! On Saturday, July 25, Red Wiggler Care Farm opened our gates as part of the 2026 Montgomery County Farm Tour, and the response from our community was nothing short of wonderful.
A Perfect Day for a Farm Visit
The sun cooperated beautifully, giving visitors the perfect backdrop for exploring our 12-acre farm in Germantown, Maryland. We welcomed an estimated 200 attendees throughout the day! Free admission was provided to all community members who came out to experience Red Wiggler’s mission firsthand.
Music, Market, and Meaningful Connections
Our barn came alive with upbeat live music, setting a joyful soundtrack for the afternoon as guests wandered through. Inside the barn, our market was stocked with farm-fresh produce and Red Wiggler apparel, giving visitors a chance to take a piece of the farm home with them.
Beyond the music and the market, the real heart of the day was the connection. Guests took field walks through our fields, learned about our organic farming practices, and discovered how our CSA program works with other local food banks and organizations, turning what we grow into food for our neighbors. Most importantly, our visitors got to see and take part in the inclusive work that defines Red Wiggler.

Red Wiggler was proud to be one of the participating farms in this year’s farm tour. Joining dozens of farms, orchards, breweries, and wineries across the county. Events like Farm Tour are a wonderful reminder of how much local agriculture has to offer and how many people are eager to support it.
A huge thank-you to everyone who made the trip out to Ovid Hazen Wells Park to spend the day with us, to Dave Zelonka Band who filled the barn with music, and to our staff, participants, and volunteers who made the day possible. We love sharing our farm, our mission, and our produce with all of you.
