Andrea Barnhart – Farm Manager
Andrea manages the Grower, Farm to Group Home and Farm to Food Bank programs at Red Wiggler. This includes managing the day to day grower participation at the farm, setting grower goals and objectives, and attending team meetings. She also implements our mangement systems to track harvest yields, row feet planted, and distribution totals.
Andrea has worked at the Red Wiggler Farm since the 2009 season and brings a variety of skills to the farm, including her ability to work well with adults with developmental disabilities. Before coming to Red Wiggler, Andrea worked as a non-profit computer consultant for 10 years.
Andrea grew up on a dairy farm in southwest Virginia where she developed an appreciation for the outdoors, love of farming and the Hokies. After college, Andrea moved to Washington, DC as an Americorps and Brethren Volunteer Service member and coordinated an after school tutoring program for at-risk students. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys biking, cooking and playing the piano.
