Ashley Jordan Palermo, Field and Production Manager
If you come to visit the farm, you are most likely to see Ashley running up and down from the fields with all the different tools and tractors it takes to keep the farm running. She is often preparing fields for the next planting, seeding cover crops, and making sure all the plants get watered. She also keeps us on schedule to harvest all the vegetables in time for the CSA and our donation partners. She is passionate about soil health and sustainability on the farm and loves to talk about what Red Wiggler is doing to take care of our soil and the whole farm ecosystem.
Ashley came to Red Wiggler in the summer of 2017 as a volunteer intern. She quickly found her place due to her shared love of growing food and community building. After graduating from James Madison University in 2018, with a degree in Biology, she returned to Red Wiggler and now helps to manage the farm alongside Melissa, Red Wiggler's Farm Manager.
