Liz Phelan – Outreach Coordinator
Liz has worked at the Red Wiggler Community Farm since 2008.
She is a native of the greater Washington, DC area. During college, Liz had the opportunity to work at Green Chimneys Farm in Brewster, New York, a residential farm-based school for individuals with a wide range of disabilities. It was here that she caught the farming bug and experienced the impact that sunshine, tending fields and healthful living can have on people. Upon graduating from Boston College with a degree in Human Development, she returned to Annapolis began working in a local children’s shelter before taking a position facilitating early intervention programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.
An opening at Red Wiggler coincided with a move to Germantown, and now Liz finds herself in a position that allows her to share her passions for farming and working with individuals with disabilities with others in one great program.
