Beth Van Leer – Operations Manager
Beth Van Leer has worked at Red Wiggler Community Farm since 2001 and is originally from Montgomery County, Maryland. She brings financial and grants management skills to our non-profit organization, reports outcomes to stakeholders, manages day to day operations and general bookkeeping.
With a passion for sustainable farming, she enjoys working with our inclusive farm program participants and educating Service Learning volunteers about organic agricultural practices and Chesapeake Bay issues. Her interests are the study of native plants, shrubs and trees and the interconnected relationships between healthy soil and water in natural habitat ecosystems. She is a Certified Weed Warrior Group Leader by Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning (M-NCPPC) at the Ovid Hazen Wells Park where Red Wiggler is located.
She received her degree in Sociology from McDaniel College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Honors.
