We are very proud of these Red Wiggler Successes:
- RWCF programs impacted over 400 people with developmental disabilities in 2010.
- 15 employed growers worked over 4,800 hours – a 5% increase from 2009!
- 8 adults with developmental disabilities received vocational training.
- 120 youth volunteers with disabilities participated in on-farm Educational Service Learning farm activities.
- 193 youth without disabilities participated in on-farm Educational Service Learning activities.
- 414 adults without disabilities participated in Red Wiggler inclusive programs.
- 76% of all on-farm volunteers, with and without disabilities, interacted with our growers which creates the inclusive environment we strive for.
- 285 low-income adults with developmental disabilities received 5,654 pounds of fresh, healthy produce through our Farm to Group Home Program through 10 subsidized CSA shares as well as additional produce distributions to 95 local group homes in Montgomery County.
- Our growers harvested 3,340 pounds of fresh produce distributed to MANNA Food Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland for our Farm to Food Bank Program.
